Ten ‘Make Money Online Websites’ Kenyans Love

Probably the biggest advantage of working online is increased personal freedom to make that extra cash anywhere anytime.

It’s official Kenyans love making money on the internet. With social welfare in the country worsening and unemployment levels hitting the roof, many Kenyans are being forced to look for jobs online to make ends meet.

As I was going through the Alexa rankings for top websites in Kenya, I identified numerous “make money online” websites among the list, this shows how aggressive Kenyans have become in exploring new ways of gaining financial stability.

Although not listed on the top ten list below, Forex trading is one of the lucrative ways Kenyans are using to make the extra shilling via the internet.

  1. Odesk.com - is a global marketplace that helps employers hire, manage, and pay remote freelancers or teams. Anyone with relevant skills can sign up as a freelancer to start earning.
  2. Academia-research.com – Claims to pay for freelance online writing jobs.
  3. Uvocorp.com – Online freelance writing jobs, academic writing jobs, writing careers and offers free registration to members.
  4. Essaywritters.net – A professional freelance writing company that pays up-to $16 dollars a page. It has been around for ten years.
  5. Freelancer.com – A place to hire freelancers and find jobs online, a place for freelance programmers, web developers, designers, writers, data entry and many more. Freelancer.com is probably the world’s largest outsourcing marketplace.
  6. 4writers.net – Claims to have a large customer base translating into hundreds of job offers per day. 4writers.net also claims to pay up-to $16 dollars a page.
  7. Elance.com – Helps businesses appoint and manage workers “in the cloud”. It is a good spot for businesses looking to staff-up a team on an hourly or project basis by offering instant access to skilled professionals who work online. Sign up, find what you can do, search and apply for job postings then wait. Elance claims to have paid more than $350 Million dollars to contractors.
  8. Clixsense.com – Is one of the oldest and most trusted paid-to-click ( PTC ) websites online. Members get paid to click on sponsor adverts by viewing the advertised websites for a couple of seconds. Clixsense stands out from many other pay to click websites as it allows withdrawals via cheque to Kenya. Anyone can earn money from Clixsense :) You may also be interested in Neobux and Wordlinx
  9. Clickbank – An online retail outlet for over 10,000 digital product vendors and approximately 100,000 active affiliates. Clickbank pays members for promoting and selling their digital content, e.g, books. Part of the sales income goes to Clickbank while the rest is retained by it’s affiliates.
  10. Topwriterlist.com – Pays it’s members to do online academic researches and promises a minimum of $4 per page and a up-to $17.50 dollars. This company was founded about three years ago.

When I started my blog about online money making, I did not know what to expect and I was still trying to find the best way to make money online. I knew I needed to get some helpful insights on how to go about on online money making process and possibly get some recommendations on the sites to join. This is exactly how I started. I spent most of my time doing some research and participating in other forums and at the end of it all, I was able to come up a list of the best online paying programs. I have since then been doing reviews of most of those websites that I have joined and some of others which my friends continue to recommend. I cannot be able to mention all of them but I will just highlights the few that have significantly improved my online earnings. One of the best program that I have joined is JSS Tripler (a matrix program) Factoidz (article submitting website), Mylot (paid forum) and mybrowsercash (earn money by browsing the internet). I also use Chitika and AdHitz ads but I do not like Google Adsense since they are very strict. These are some of the best programs that I have joined, there are still more amazing ways to earn online that you can find in my 2 blogs; http://titotito091.blogspot.com/ and http://kimmaffiliatesprograms.blogspot.com/ and for those looking to know more about blogging, you can read blogging tips on; http://tito-productservicereview.blogspot.com/

Well, you seem to have done sufficient study to help you make money on the internet. What I have leant over the years is to treat online investments as a real world business. It takes time to start realizing profits and can only be done if adequate effort and time is sacrificed.

  • http://titotito091.blogspot.com/ Tito

I totally agree with you. Online businesses is like any other business but requires much effort and dedication. Without that, it is almost impossible to be successful.

i totally agree with Dennis on the ‘taking time to realize profits’ part. I am into online Forex and it is my main source of income. Basically, its all about discipline when it comes to online jobs because if you don’t work you don’t get paid.

I know this is out of left court but maybe you could do a bit of research and estimate how much one is able to make from theses sites on a monthly basis, working, say, 40 hours a week, Id appreciate.

    • Dennis Mayeku

I would do that and possibly make a new post for the research findings.

Even though online businesses require more creativity and effort to start, their biggest plus is the ability to go into autopilot mode. At some point, even with little effort the business can still sustain itself.

hello, can u give me online forex training lessons, m eager to know. alice

  • Cathy

Nice piece Dennis. One of the greatest challenges online Money Makers have been facing is the fact that paypal has not authorized withdrawals through Kenyan banks for the reason we all know too well (lack of adequate anti-money Laundering Legislation). This has however opened an opportunity for local entrepreneurs to offer alternative withdrawal opportunities. I personally use ePay Kenya (http://epay-kenya.com) which is reputed for its consistency over time (since 2008), reliability, security and an impressive turn-around period for processing transactions not to mention their efficient and friendly customer care department. I suggest you take your time to find out more about them and give them some coverage as I truly believe they are doing an exceptional job to sustain this emerging industry of online writers.

    • Dennis Mayeku

      Thanks Cathy :)
I’ve heard of the reputation of Epay before though I haven’t transacted with them yet. I hope one of these days I will and possibly write my experience with their service. Currently, am using Skrill(Moneybookers) to withdraw cash to my bank.

  • Joseph Mwangi

    Hi Dennis,
If you need your cash from moneybookers real quick, like within 30 minutes, epay are good. You can try them.

    • Dennis Mayeku

Hi, I will give Epay a try next time am withdrawing, sometimes those 2-3 waiting days for Moneybookers might be the moment you lose out on an opportunity :)

  • http://marketpool.blogspot.com/ denis

@Tito. For a while now I have been working with JSS-Tripler and I believe for a fact that they are the very best bet in making money online. The only problem is that very few people know about its existence which therefore provoked me into writing a blog entry about so many more people could learn. Kenyans are very cautious when it comes to money but I am proof that JSS-tripler is not a scam and I got cold hard cash to prove it.

    • Susan

hi denis, how does jss tripler work?

  • Google Internet Marketing

Appreciate this post. Let me try it out.

  • Timothy

Dennis what do you think of binary options? are they good to consider?

    • Dennis Mayeku

Timothy, binary options requires that you invest with money that you can really afford to lose. Trading in binary options is highly rewarding and risky in equal measure.

You can always increase your chances of being a successful binary options trader by studying the subject inside out and using demo accounts before investing real money.

This is great insight on ways of making money on the internet. Other ways include Launch Jacking, Site Flipping, selling ad space, starting a membership site and so on.

The internet is the one place that Kenyans are yet to fully exploit. It is sad to see young people running around looking for employment yet on line they can achieve financial freedom.

    Good work Dennis.

    • http://www.openbook.co.ke/ Dennis Mayeku

Thanks for adding those profitable avenues to the list Stephen. Kenyan internet marketers are moving closer to more rewarding practices of making money online such as launch jacking which require input of a reasonable amount of cash and effort.

google for ‘mike ndegwa’ he is like a guru when it comes to forex n stuff plus he has a finance degree.

There are so many ways of making money online but one problem i’ve noticed is the obsession with the western world i.e. people are not willing to support local jobs. for instance, nobody is interested in buying/selling facebook page likes locally yet that is one great job people are doing in other parts of the world. Also, if you compare Forex and other investment opportunities online, most would rather die with forex rather than try something else with better returns. If you have used Freelancer.com as an employer before, you ca try this investment option – http://www.facebook.com/Freelance.Investment/info
